Connecting wealth and purpose across generations with Rise and Articulate 360
“Helping families be families—stronger, closer, and wiser.’’
This maxim has guided TDC Investment Advisory (TDC) since its inception. The Ohio-based wealth management firm serves high net worth families and individuals and closely held businesses, connecting clients’ wealth to what matters to them most: their purpose.
TDC focuses on helping clients grow enduring wealth. The firm emphasizes passing down through generations not only wealth but also the values that helped create it. That practice arose organically at TDC, in response to clients’ growing concern about their children and grandchildren’s fiscal responsibility and financial preparedness.
Young people need financial know-how, but it can be difficult to find engaging financial education that satisfies the ways they want to learn. To fill the gap and help alleviate the common concerns of their client families, TDC launched RightTrak—a financial education program designed to help high school students, college students, and other young adults learn the fundamentals of building and maintaining wealth.
TDC began looking for a course creation platform to support the interactive, high-impact learning experiences they envisioned. But they also wanted to manage and measure that training to keep learners motivated and on track and analyze RightTrak’s impact over time.
Making complex content fun and engaging
TDC chose Rise and Articulate 360 to create and manage RightTrak because of the unparalleled customization options and seamless systems integration.
“We looked across a number of e-learning authoring platforms to use as the canvas to build RightTrak,” says Jesse MacDonald, Director of Marketing at TDC. “Articulate 360 immediately stood out. It was easy to use the minute we found it, and it had the modern, airy feel we were looking for to build out our content. We knew this was the learning experience our clients’ kids and grandkids deserve.”
The RightTrak team quickly found that any idea or experience they wanted to build, they could create with Articulate 360: infographics, quizzes, videos, interactive game shows—even immersive scenarios starring real-life characters solving real problems. When they’d created a comprehensive 15-module curriculum of interactive training content, it was time to publish.
Easy integration, easy delivery
TDC needed to deliver the courses but wasn’t happy using its existing learning management system (LMS). Then, TDC discovered Rise, Articulate’s all-in-one training system that works seamlessly with training content built in Articulate 360.
“It was so easy to take Articulate 360 content and put it into Rise and maintain the learning experience we’d created,” Jesse says. “And it was simple to understand how the learning paths work.”
After a quick content export from Articulate 360 to Rise, RightTrak used Rise to distribute, manage, and track the training program. “Being able to monitor learners’ progress is huge,” says Jesse, “and it’s great that Rise has a prerequisite course path to keep them on track.” The team also loves that Rise rewards and motivates learners with certificates of completion.
On the business end, the company appreciates Rise’s dedicated support. “You’d be surprised at what other companies offer,” says Jesse. “You get help for two or three months, and then it’s up to you to figure it out alone.” In contrast, Jesse says, “the Rise Happiness Team and our dedicated account manager have been phenomenal.”
A hit for the ages
Less than a month after purchasing Rise, TDC launched RightTrak—then racked up 57% of its first-year enrollment goal in only six weeks. To date, TDC has easily surpassed its first-year enrollment goal and is eager to grow the program.
Initially a client-only offering, RightTrak has so impressed TDC’s community partners that the firm is considering offering it through corporate wellness programs, local school systems, college athletic programs, and more. One local high school system plans to adopt RightTrak next semester, and a Division 1 college football program has already adopted it for its athletes.
Jesse and the team are thrilled: “We wanted to add more value for the next generation. At the same time, it was really important that we build something completely different. We’re awfully thankful to the Rise team and Articulate for everything they’ve meant to this program.”
